Balmoral 2016 turned into the McGarrys’ 'Budore Blondes' show with their stylish junior heifer Lollypop taking the jr championship, female championship and the overall championship. She is a March
15 heifer by Aneto and the famous show cow Garnet.
Judge Dye Clark of Carluke, Lanarkshire also had an eye for her stablemate, as Budore Liza was reserve champion. Liza is a Jan 15 heifer by Budore Floyd and Budore Eva.
Budore Jessie won the sr heifer class.
A special mention to the Griffin family as their cow Drumraymond Hidi Ho won the senior cow class and their bull, Limited won the jr bull class. The Drumraymond duo went on to take the pairs class.
The McElroy family’s intermediate heifer, Ivaniskey Juilet won a strong class of intermediate heifers.
A huge well done to all the exhibitors, especially those showing for the first time, Scott Davidson and Gary McClelland.
Also a big thankyou to the Blonde sponsors APB, the Blonde Society and Oddball Engineering for the sashes and all the organisers, stewards and backroom staff at Balmoral.
The NI club will host a packed weekend in August 19th-21st where all Blonde breeders and enthusiasts are invited to come along and enjoy the craic and company with other blondies.
We will be visiting some of the best Blonde herds in Northern Ireland, holding a BBQ where Blonde x wagyu beef will be on the menu, specially prepared by Marcus Bawdon of country wood smoke www.countrywoodsmoke.com/
There will be a presentation dinner on the Saturday evening at the Ivanhoe Inn with herd visits in the morning and afternoon. The trip will be rounded off by one visit on Sunday with a great lunch at the Ballymac Hotel.
